NEW:  Max Kade Institute Kurrent Transcription Group

Can you read the Old German script/ KurrentDo you enjoy deciphering historic texts? Would you like to learn more about the German-American experience?

Join the new Kurrent transcription group at the Max Kade Institute!  

Modeled after a similar group at the Horner Library of the German Society of Pennsylvania, we will gather once a week on Zoom to transcribe documents from the Max Kade Institute Archives written in the Old German Script (Kurrent) to modern type. The group will be led by Maria Sturm, a historian and member of the Horner Library Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Max Kade Institute.

 Fridays, 12:00 – 1:30 pm Central Time (Chicago time), starting on March 11, 2022
