In June 2021, “Neighbors Past and Present: The Wisconsin-German Experience” was shown at the Seymour Community Historical Society. The Society juxtaposed local artifacts from its collection (many from early German-speaking settlers) with the corresponding exhibit panels. They included an accordion, a dresser-style trunk that was shipped by the Ziegenbein family from Hamburg to New York in 1848, a 1912 poster for a local auction that was printed in both English in German, baptism certificates and other texts in the German language from local churches, and much more.
