The Place of Faith in Wisconsin German Communities (lecture and tour)

Join Mark Louden for a look at the central role religion has played in German heritage communities in Wisconsin. The talk will include the history of two Eau Claire congregations founded by German immigrants: St. John’s German Evangelical Lutheran Church (1872) and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (1875).

A 1:30 pm  hybrid presentation at Chippewa Valley Museum will be followed by an optional tour of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 3:00 pm. Donations are requested for participation in the church tour, which will go to support continued operations of the church. Transportation not provided.
