Join us for the 2023 annual meeting of the Friends of the Max Kade Institute in Monroe, Green County, Wisconsin, located in the center of Swiss-German immigration and culture in the state. We will hold our meeting at the historic Turner Hall, where we will enjoy a Swiss buffet lunch in the Rathskeller Restaurant, followed by presentations on “The Swiss in Green County—Past and Present,” (Hans Bernet and Karen Fowdy) and “The Swiss Center of North America” (Greg Long) as well as a performance of Swiss traditional music. Our day will continue with rotating private tours of the National Historic Cheesemaking Center (museum guides) and the Historic Green County Courthouse and Square (docent Noreen Rueckert). Friends who wish to stay a little longer, are invited to an informal gathering at Baumgartner’s Cheese Store and Tavern afterwards.
