Your ancestors decided to leave German-Speaking Europe for America – what did they do at home before they were able to embark on their journey? This presentation will look at the different requirements and conditions prospective emigrants faced over three centuries, and the documents they left behind during the emigration process and the transatlantic journey. Changes in travel routes and means of transportation will also be addressed.
