Description:
When immigrants from German-speaking Europe came to Wisconsin in the nineteenth century, they brought with them their culture and traditions, especially culinary ways and recipes. Before long, cookbooks were printed in this country for the German-American Hausfrau. Through text and images, they provide fascinating glimpses into the lives of German immigrants and mirror their acculturation to a new world over time and editions.
