Madison is pleased to host the 14th Germanic Linguistics Annual Conference (GLAC) in 2008. GLAC is the yearly conference of the Society for Germanic Linguistics (SGL), an organization serving the broad community of scholars teaching and researching in Germanic Linguistics and Philology. The conference will include papers encompassing the full range of subfields in Germanic linguistics and philology, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and language contact and change, and the full range of Germanic languages and dialects, including Modern German, Dutch, Yiddish, the Scandinavian languages, Afrikaans, Pennsylvania German, English (especially before 1500), and Gothic, as well as texts and manuscripts in these languages.
Update, March 23: The preliminary program and a registration form are now up as .pdf files (see links on your left).
U.S. residents please pay conference fee by April 15; Internationals may pay upon arrival.
We look forward to seeing a lot of colleagues here in Madison in May.
